Property-specific approvals.
The Bureau distinguishes ordinary component repairs from new construction or extensive rehabilitation that may need Planning involvement. We also check historic and other property-specific restrictions before work.
If we need owner authorization, association consent, or property records, we explain exactly what is needed and guide you through that part. We coordinate the roofing approval process; the responsible authority or association makes the approval decision. For commercial properties, we also plan access and rooftop equipment coordination with your building team.
An older roof or a National Register listing alone does not establish a local design-review requirement. We check the property’s local designation and applicable district rules before changing visible materials, dormers, skylights or roof equipment. Floodplain and association reviews are also address-specific.
